There lives within us both the part that desires to lead and the part that desires to be led

While there are those that choose a side to play on, there are those that choose to stand in the middle

I find nothing wrong with this choice

This game is more complex than it seems and sometimes there is the need within to search for the answer you could not find while playing the other side

At first, this option allows you to explore the best role that suits you and gives you the chance to see what it feels to be on the other end of the rope

As you grow older and more experienced, you will find yourself directed to the side that best suits your needs

Nevertheless there is an implicit rule to this game

Once you start playing it with someone, you should stick to the role you selected

There is nothing worse than having someone proclaim himself to be your Master and in the middle of a session finding Him handing you the cuffs and telling you to lock him, because it is his turn

The same happens to a slave that wishes to overpower his Master because he does not recognize Him in his part

In both cases presented, there is a big disrespect to the one you are with

To allow expectations to be built, only to find them destroyed by someone who doesn’t understand what it truly means to play it

Rules should be set before playing the game and this is the first rule to set

Who will play what role

A serious player will most probably not accept someone who just wants to joke around

As a piece of warning, you should know that serious masters will never give you a chance for you to sub them

In some cases, you may be offered either a quick exit, but in most cases you will be presented with a very destructive and painful experience where you will be shown your place

Regarding my personal choice, I decided long ago to play exclusively on the master role

It is the part that better suits me and the one where my abilities can better be put to use

Being a master or a slave is not a matter of strength or lack of it

It is a matter of commitment to the choice made and a desire to be the best at what you do

Being a switch means that you will have to have the double of the strength, as you will have to disconnect yourself from the part you will not play

That is more easily achieved if you play a specific part with someone

Whatever you choose to play, the important thing is that you do it and you play as well as you can

The more you play, the better you will be

 

If you like playing both roles you are free to do so

But set how this will be played

It is the only way you will find enjoyment in this game
